Do you like cosy? Do you like baked goods? Do you like a sprinkle of cute love?
If it is yes, then go buy this book yesterday!
Serena is a young woman with a dream. The dream to open her own bakery in the small town of Brindlewood.
But what makes het baked goods better than the rest?
Magic!
She wants to show that baked goods infused with magic can be amazing.
But not everyone agrees. There is a non magic bakery run by tall, dark and handsome named Rowan. And he happens to be the 5 time champion of the biggest baking competition known in the area.
Serena does her best to try and win the town over. And maybe Rowan too!
But trying to run a bakery and win everybody’s heart is a tough cookie. Specially since an unexpected person from the past is visiting and tries to sabotage everything Serena works for.
I am a book snob. If someone says it’s a cosy read, I want a cosy read. And this book ticks all those boxes I want.
The feeling of needing a hot cup of tea and a blanket was there! An easy read? It really is, but it also has a nice story. Because cosy for me, is also a simple read. Not too long, not many names and storylines. Just read and go and sip your tea.
The only thing with cosies that contain foods is…..i want all the foods. I want to make them, eat them, review them. During reading I can even smell it!
And even tough it makes me hungry, I love to read about it.
The characters are well written. None is the same. Adored the love interest. It wasn’t too unicorn and sprinkles sweet, but believable.
There is a cool revenge part in this book. I would’ve loved it too be stronger. For me it was a bit too simple.
But to be fair, the climax of the revenge was cool, unique and very funny. But that was exactly the point where i wanted a bit more.
But hey…this is nit-picking!
Which I do when I live something and do hope there will be more in this world. This is a book that can be a stand alone, but also a series. And I hope it will not be the last and we will see more of Brindlewood!
